About the Meet

The Timpanogos Invitational has been one of Utah's premier high school cross country invitationals since its founding in 2010. Held each fall at Lakeside Park in Vineyard, Utah — with the iconic peak of Mt. Timpanogos rising in the distance — the meet has grown into a destination event drawing 80+ teams and some of the nation's finest distance talent.

The course is legendary among Utah runners: 3.1 miles of fast, flat, 99% grass running purpose-built for personal bests. Year after year, athletes arrive chasing breakthrough performances — and many find them here.

The meet's alumni roll reads like a who's-who of elite American distance running. National Champion Jackson Spencer set the course record here. National Record Holder Jane Hedengren of Timpview has dominated the girls race. Steeple national champion Ragan Peterson cut his teeth on this course. The Timpanogos Invitational is where great teams race, champions compete, and memories are made.

Organized by Timpanogos High School and directed by Jody Benson, the meet prides itself on a well-run, athlete-first experience. In 2026, two sessions — AM and PM — will allow even more teams to compete while maintaining the high standard the invitational is known for.
